WFH is now WORK OUT From Home WOFH

Hey ETFers!


We are hoping that you are staying safe at home with the current CV19 situation. The question is now, how can we stay fit from home?


This post, we are going to focus on resources for at home! Do not be afraid to invite the entire family to come work out with you!


Step 1: Your Uniform


In this time of self-care, it is important that you prepare to work out from home. Make sure you (and your families) have a proper set of fitness clothing that your're going to wear. Because you're at home, you need to make a shift in your brain to know when to work out and to provide new energy to the space. The easiest way to do this is to put on your work out uniform. Make sure your clothes are comfortable and flexible. If you have the luxury of a portable mirror, make sure to set it up by where you are working out to check your posture and technique.


Step 2: Select An Access Point


There are so many ways to WOFH that you need to look at what works for your own environment. I, for instance, do not have a TV so that would not be my access point to information and workouts. I will outline multiple ways to watch and get fit.


Phone/Tablet:

You will want to check out https://www.instagram.com/variis/ on IG. Set your phone up in a place where you have space to see it. EQUINOX is one of the most expensive and exclusive gyms in Toronto but now they are showing a lot of HIIIT workouts right from their instagram.

Computer:

Here is a 30 Day Yoga Challenge by Yoga with Adriene:


There are a lot of great yoga programs from this YouTube Channel that you can follow along. I suggest doing this 30 Day challenge because currently, we are not sure how long this Quarantine will continue for so it is important to stay grounded and have a set focus for your every day. If you can keep your mind calm, it will help take any news we receive with a mindful outlook and have a more rational response.

After trying this you may want to set up a subscription if you enjoy the program. We all have one that we share and it's really good for the new WOFH lifestyle.


SMART TVs also have the same options as above.


No technology



If you do not like being in front of a screen the entire time, consider printing out this spell your name workout from Dreamstime. You can do your name day 1 and then maybe friends and family on the following days.


Step 3: Gratitude


In a pandemic, no matter your situation, always end your workout by thinking of three things that you are currently grateful for. For me, I am fortunate enough to live by a small store that always has toilet paper in stock. I also have a wonderful family. My last point is that I am still getting paid in this unsettling circumstance and I can afford my rent when it is due. The gratitude piece will keep you grounded the rest of the day as your start to form your routine.
